The amazing barnstorming tour of Tausili Akana just got more incredible. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound sophomore (class of 2023) emerged from an unofficial visit at Ohio State with a scholarship offer. Some video clips below from the inaugural Chace Numata Senior All-Star Game held on Saturday at Joey DeSa Field. Numata died in 2019 after suffering injuries in a skateboarding accident. The former Pearl City standout was a catcher in the Detroit Tigers organization, playing for the Erie SeaDogs, a AA team. He was a 14th round draft pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010. From the knoll at the left-field fence to the welcoming pavement of North School Street, Joey DeSa Field became the adopted home of the inaugural Chace Numata Senior All-Star game on Saturday. Eric Tokunaga couldn’t forget Chace Numata. Numata, a minor-league baseball prospect, died in 2019 from injuries suffered from a skateboarding accident.
