Punahou (7-2) collected six of 10 first-place votes and returned to the top spot for the first time since Oct. 18. Kamehameha garnered the other four first-place votes. Both teams, along with No. 3 ‘Iolani, had a bye through last […]

Men in black, white and orange: Campbell’s lockdown ‘D’

By Paul Honda on November 7, 2021

Orange Crush is always refreshing. At Campbell, life in the post-Titus era has been part revelation, part reality. A cast of contributors who do their jobs. What was lost with the cancelled 2020 season — offensive playmaker Titus Mokiao-Atimalala was destined for another monster season — has been found once again through the Sabers’ defense. Eight Campbell defenders notched at least three tackles in a 36-3 win over No. 9 Kapolei on Saturday night. The Hurricanes missed the services of […]

By Paul Honda on November 6, 2021

There’s an old saying, that victory goes to the last man standing. In this case, it was No. 2 Saint Louis that was just a bit healthier, riding its ground attack behind a giant, pulverizing wall of trench men for a 35-21 win over No. 3 Kamehameha in the final of the ILH football playoffs at Aloha Stadium. Saint Louis (5-3, 2-2 ILH regular season) will represent the ILH in the state tournament on Dec. 18. Kamehameha, which was ranked […]
