Punahou girls relay teams out to find right groove

Punahou’s two track and field relay teams showed they meant business in an ILH meet last Saturday. Both surpassed the top times in Hawaii for 2019. The Buffanblu’s 4×100 team ran a 51.17, topping Campbell’s 51.49 from earlier in the season. Punahou’s 4×400 unit finished in 4:10.66 to get past Mililani’s 4:10.97. When Yukumotos and Katos are involved, look for an OIA West baseball war. A fun war. On Wednesday, it was Aiea coach Ryan Kato on one side and Leilehua shortstop Ty Yukumoto on the other. This time, Kato’s Na Alii prevailed 4-2 to avenge a loss by the same score to the Mules earlier this season. Campbell football to finish home-and-home with O’Connor in ’19

Campbell will be hosting a Phoenix team this fall in the finale of a home-and-home series. Last season, the Sabers went to Phoenix, where they beat the Sandra Day O’Connor High 37-20. “They’ve got some good, D-I caliber kids and a really good coaching staff,” Campbell coach Darren Johnson said about the Eagles.
