Pearl City repeats in OIA Division II volleyball

It was a new team but the same result for Pearl City. The Chargers replaced all but a couple of players from their 2018 title team and persevered through some shaky moments to become back-to-back champions in OIA Division II volleyball with a 25-20, 18-25, 25-21, 25-17 defeat of Nanakuli on Wednesday night at Radford’s Jim Alegre Gymnasium. Maryknoll’s Peter Jung finished one shot better than two competitors to win the ILH individual boys golf championship and gold medal at the Turtle Bay Fazio Course on Wednesday. College club football informational meeting on Maui on Thursday

Maui’s first informational community meeting for Hawaii 8 will be held Thursday. Hawaii 8 is a new club football organization for college students in the state that is slated to start a five-team league in the spring of 2020. The nonprofit parent organization — Hawaii Football Club — will be running the informational meeting at 6 p.m. in the student lounge in the Pilina Building at the University of Hawaii Maui College.
