The Radford Rams upset previously unbeaten Waipahu 12-2 in five innings on Saturday to capture their first Oahu Interscholastic Association Division II baseball title since 2011. This is the second league title under Jacob Sur. Richard Akana III and winning pitcher Daniel May chatted with Hawaii Prep World after the win.

Winning three ILH championships is hard to do, but two juniors did it Friday night in judo at Kamehameha. That means the fourth one is out there for the taking next year for Punahou’s Brayden Bella and Mid-Pacific’s Charlize Jasmine Pascual-Tabuyo. Kamehameha and Saint Louis will finish ILH tournament game Saturday

Kamehameha will have to resume its quest for an ILH tournament championship on Saturday morning after its game against Saint Louis at Central Oahu Regional Park was rained out midway through Friday’s game. Kamehameha was winning 4-0 halfway through the third inning when the game was postponed. Roosevelt slated for new gym and locker rooms

Roosevelt will be getting a new gymnasium if the state House and Senate pass a funding bill next week. House Bill 1259 SD1 sets aside $19.5 million for design and construction of a new gymnasium for the Rough Riders with locker rooms classrooms and other related facilities. It’s Christmas in April for Hawaii’s high school girl athletes. House bill 1259 SD1 has passed through House and Senate committee and will move on to the full Hawaii House and Senate for a vote sometime next week. The bill includes many capital improvement projects across the state for construction of girls athletic locker rooms. The Saint Louis Crusaders won’t be expecting any thank-you cards from the Kamehameha Warriors anytime soon. The Crusaders ended Mid-Pacific’s Cinderella run in the ILH playoffs on Thursday with a 9-6 win at Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park. Until Thursday, the double-elimination format meant MPI’s state-tournament hopes were healthy and alive.
