VIDEO: Kaimuki’s Jayden Maiava has monster game against Waialua

Kaimuki sophomore quarterback Jayden Maiava threw for five touchdowns, including three to slotback/linebacker Kaulana Kaluna in a 61-7 win over Waialua at Tosh Nakasone Field. Maiava finished with 274 passing yards and rushed for 41 more, including another TD. Kaimuki improved to 2-0 in league play (3-1 overall).

Saint Louis is now a Top 10 team in both major national rankings. Two days after entering the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 at No. 8, the Crusaders moved up three spots to No. 9 in the USA Today Super 25 released today. There were a lot of firsts for the ironmen of Kaimuki on Saturday night. In a surprisingly easy 61-7 rout of Waialua at Toshi Nakasone Field, the Bulldogs racked up seven sacks and scored two defensive touchdowns — both a first this season.
