Outside hitter Tayli Ikenaga and Coach Alan Cabanting chat after Moanalua’s tough five-set 26-27, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11 win over previously unbeaten Kahuku in an Oahu Interscholastic Association East thriller. Ikenaga finished with 28 kills despite an injured ankle as Na Menehune improved to 5-0.

Tayli Ikenaga overcame an ankle injury and finished with 28 kills as Moanalua edged Kahuku 26-27, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11 on Thursday night in a battle for the lead in the Oahu Interscholastic Association East. Damien gets a do-over at Hugh Yoshida Stadium

This is the one Damien has been waiting for.  The Monarchs return to Hugh Yoshida Stadium on Friday, where they lost 23-17 to the Mules to hand ‘Iolani the coveted D1 state berth from the ILH last season.
