Waianae’s Tiare Carlson and Anissa Wright of Campbell found themselves locked in a 2-2 tie halfway through their match for the 145-pound title at the OIA West Championships at Pearl City on Saturday.  Carlson, who pinned Wright in 2 minutes, 42 seconds at the Paani Challenge, earned a takedown in the first period but suffered a reversal to tie it up in the second. Kamehameha junior Shaye Story and Pac-Five sophomore Grace Monahan added to their collection of ILH swimming gold medals on Saturday at the league championships at Kamehameha. Kalani wrestling team shows keen competitiveness at OIA East finals

Kalani made its presence felt at the OIA East Division wrestling championships Saturday at Farrington’s Kitamura Gym. Whether it was by grittiness or technique, the Falcons got the job done. In the 12 boys and 12 girls divisions, five Kalani wrestlers made it to the championship match, with four of them winning titles.
