Damien to play gym sports without spectators in response to coronavirus

Damien Memorial School sent out an email to parents of students today that athletic contests, specifically boys volleyball, scheduled for the school gym this semester will be played without spectators for the “forseeable future” in response to the coronavirus. Konawaena’s Caiyle Kaupu was chosen as the Gatorade Hawaii girls basketball player of the year, the Gatorade Company announced Friday. The award recognizes outstanding athletic excellence, high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character on and off the field. The 5-foot-10 senior low-post was a force for the Wildcats, who went 21-4 record and made it to the Division I final. Kalaheo hires Nelson Maeda as football head coach

Nelson Maeda is the new head coach of the Kalaheo Mustangs football team, the school announced Thursday night.
