The Owls of Mid-Pacific are guided by former ‘Iolani all-state guard Ryan Hirata. The Owls look like they have a full roster. They’re led by guard Donald Gipson, a Loyola Marymount signee, and 6-8 center Babacar Thiombare (Army). FIRST QUARTER Antoine Monroe’s corner 3 opens the lead to 5-0. MPI turns the ball over against the press, and […]

UPDATE: ‘Iolani 58, Kaimuki 39, F

By Paul Honda on December 18, 2015

It was a ragged first half as the host Raiders used a lot of reserves. They led 19-9 at one point. ‘Iolani leads at the half, 21-14. THIRD QUARTER A corner 3 by Helam Baldomero has sparked a quick 6-0 run in the first 1:12 of the third. Turnovers by Kaimuki against the Raiders’ 2-2-1 fullcourt press have hurt the Bulldogs. Kaimuki hanging tough, getting a long 3 from Sifo Lauvao and a driving layup by Christian Ono to pull […]
