There will also be a 3-point contest for the boys and girls and a slam dunk contest as part of the festivities. Rosters were selected by Robinson. Punahou boys end hoops season back on top at No. 1

There never really was a bottom for the team that started on top, hit a few potholes, but revved up and relaunched to the top. The Punahou Buffanblu finally got theirs, sweeping through the Snapple/HHSAA Boys Basketball State Championships. Punahou (29-4) ousted Lahainaluna 60-50, Moanalua 75-69 and Kahuku 64-37 for its first state title since 2012. The years of frustration came to an end for Punahou. At the same time, the clock struck midnight for Big Red. Punahou’s 64-37 win was possibly the best performance for a group of seniors who had worked four years to reach the mountain peak. The final of the Snapple/HHSAA Boys Basketball State Championships drew 2,902 spectators who sounded more like 6,000 roaring fans at Stan Sheriff Center.
