Sunday, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser will release its boys basketball All-State Fab 15 selections, marking the 40th consecutive year a newspaper has put out an All-State team in boys basketball dating back to the Honolulu Advertiser’s 1978 squad. St. Francis, which has won the last two Division II state titles in boys basketball, will declare for Division I next season, the school said today. St. Francis junior guard Kameron Ng, who led the Saints to their second consecutive boys basketball state championship in Division II last month, was named the Gatorade Hawaii player of the year on Thursday. It’s all fun and games until a little fire gets going, and that’s partly how the OIA squad, led by Tolu Smith, edged the ILH team 97-96 on Saturday night in the fifth annual Geremy Robinson Senior Classic at Blaisdell Center.
