With Hall of Honor recepient Larry Tuileta gone, the Buffanblu boys volleyball team was supposed to come back to the pack a little bit. BJ Hosaka has outgrown his fish bowl. Hosaka was the big fish at tiny Hawaii Baptist as a four year starter in both basketball and volleyball and will be rewarded for it on June 7 at the Dole Cannery Square’s Pomaikai Ballroom when he is inducted into the Enterprise / HHSAA Hall of Honor. Bowers hired to coach Castle boys hoops

He was a basketball player at Kalaheo High School a dozen years ago, then a girls basketball coach at his alma mater. And then, he moved on. Saint Louis announces Silva as new hoops coach

It’s official. Saint Louis hired Allan Silva as its varsity basebetall coach, Crusaders athletic director Wade Okamura announced Friday. Hawaii Prep World reported on Wednesday that a trusted source close to the situation said Silva would be the next coach at the school, replacing the outgoing Keith Spencer. A source with close ties to Saint Louis said that Allan Silva will be the new varsity basketball coach there. Last Friday, Saint Louis told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser that no hire had been made yet. On Tuesday, word got out that Silva would be hired, though there has been no official confirmation by the school yet. HBA hoops camp scheduled for June

Hawaii Baptist Academy is hosting its 21st annual Eagle Hoop Camp, June 2-5 at the school gym. Eagles girls coach Keith Sugiura and boys coach George Weeks, both of whom led their teams to ILH Division II titles last season, are the lead instructors.
