On this date in 2011, Little League World Series heroes Kaeo Aliviado and Iolana Akau helped Saint Louis over Mid-Pacific in a battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2 on the Owls field. Saint Louis ended up winning the ILH and both schools lost their first games at states. On this day in 1975, Oshita appeared to be well on his way with a 3-2 win over Kalani. The victory moved the Bulldogs two full games ahead of the field in the OIA East with a 9-1 record. Perhaps nobody told McKinley’s Martin Borja that baseball games are not supposed to go 25 innings. On this date in 1967, Kamehameha beat McKinley 9-7 in 25 innings at Honolulu Stadium. Borja pitched 24 2/3 innings in the six hour, 12-minute affair only to lose. He faced more than 100 batters in the game, allowing 14 hits and walking 11.
