Kamehameha boys volleyball coach Kainoa Downing has resigned from the position after five years in charge of the successful program, according to a school news release.
Downing’s Warriors went to the Division I state tournament in all five of his seasons and won a state championship in 2011, with a runner-up finish in 2013.
This spring, the Warriors went 11-3 and moved on to the state quarterfinals, where they lost in five sets to Moanalua.
Kamehameha athletic director Glennie Adams is looking for a replacement for Downing.
