The La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.) Lakers certainly showed they’re not a one-man squad, that’s certain.
Isaiah Stewart, their 6-foot-9 senior, was unstoppable in the paint with 16 points in a 90-40 win over St. Francis. He got plenty of help. Gerald Drumgoole (14 points) and Paxson Wojcik (12) drained two 3-pointers apiece, and Keion Brooks also added 12 points.
Post-game, though, it was a rare opportunity for fans to meet Stewart, the No. 5-ranked senior in the nation. Stewart graciously posed for photos and signed his autograph more than a dozen times. Some fans happened to meet him earlier in the week at the beach, and his amiable personality won them over.
