VIDEO: Damien hoopsters embrace high expectations

A year ago, coming off a loss in the Division II finals of the boys basketball state tournament, Damien made a decision.

Coach Alvin Stephenson, aiming for the prize, had his school declare the Monarchs to remain in D-II. Then came the winter, and Damien stunned a number of Top 10 teams, including eventual D-I state champion Maryknoll. With most of the roster back for the upcoming season, the Monarchs are relishing the opportunity to challenge for the ILH and state D-I crowns.


Jydon Hall, Jake Holtz and Bryce Forbes chatted with Hawaii Prep World after a win over Saint Louis at the ‘Iolani Summer League.
