It’s a defensive struggle through two quarters between top-seeded ‘Iolani and MIL runner-up Baldwin. The Raiders jumped to an 8-0 start but haven’t been able to put away the short-range shots in the paint against a resilient Bears defense.
THIRD QUARTER
‘Iolani guard Helam Baldomero opens the second half with a corner 3, his second of the game. Zach Gelacio hits a 10-footer in the paint and now it’s 19-8.
Baldomero draws contact, hits two FTs and now has 10 points as IOL has a 21-10 lead. Hogland just his fifth block of the game. They keep testing him down low.
The Raiders go on an 18-4 run in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 32-12. It’s 34-15 entering the fourth quarter.
