Curious as to how these teams were picked. Interesting how the boys OIA team only has players from Div.1 schools (and 3 from the same school), but the ILH team has players from all levels.
A few things…
1) If the format is public vs. private, how in the world does the girl’s POY from Konawaena end up on the ILH roster? The ILH sure as heck don’t need any more personnel she should be representing the public school team with the OIA girls.
2) I can see Kahuku sending 3 boys. Heck, I can see them getting 4 in their whole starting 5 was worthy of making this roster. Scoringlive had Ah-Hoy replaced with Wright but honestly, I’d rather see Cody Sauvao on the OIA team. He did masterful defensive work on at least 5 of the all-stars playing in this game. If defensive awards come out, he has to be the lock for defensive player of the year. I mean, it would be entertaining to watch Sauvao go up against the other ILH guards that he didn’t already. At least we know he’ll make defense entertaining (as I have the feeling there will be zero to no defense played).
3) The OIA boy’s team is too guard heavy while the ILH made sure they had post players that’s for sure.
Big ups to Coach, Team Owner, Geremy Robinson for supporting boys and girls team basketball. We need more of this for our youth to help them attain goals with a chance to reach them.
Who won?
