>> Dayson Watanabe, Jordan Tanuvasa, Kalai Santos and J.B. Kam hit 3-pointers and Punahou has a 14-2 lead over Hawaii Prep in a Punahou Invitational basketball game at Hemmeter Fieldhouse.

>> Hawaii Prep showed good patience and ball control throughout the first quarter, but got smoked on the Buffanblu’s longball and Ka Makani trails 16-2 at the end of one period.

>> Kam hits another 3-pointer and Tanuvasa throws a bullet pass inside to Akahi Troske for one of the big man’s three bucket in the second quarter as the Buffanblu roll to a 37-5 halftime lead.


>> Troske continues to get looks inside and adds two more hoops early in the third quarter, including one on a pretty pass from Watanabe. Christopher Kobayashi hits a corner trey for a huge 46-9 advantage.

>> Nicholas Palleschi scores eight points for Hawaii Prep in the third quarter and Hide Akai adds five as Ka Makani inches a bit closer at 48-20 at the end of three.

>> Baseline drive by Ronley Lakalaka, who is fouled and converts for a three-point play for a 51-20 Punahou lead.


>> Lakalaka nails a long baseline 2 to make it 53-20.

>> Lakalaka, the tough Punahou linebacker on the football field, is trying to get in as much offense as possible, but misses on a an athletic drive.


>> The Buffanblu’s Wil Stanley leaps to finish off an alley-oop pass from Kobayashi, who adds a 3-point bomb. Lakalaka then adds an easy layup after a steal by Stanley to make it 62-27 late in the fourth quarter.

>> Final score: Punahou 66, Hawaii Prep 27
