Prep basketball tournaments begin

The high school prep basketball season is already here with preseason tournaments beginning as soon as today.

Maryknoll and Kalani tip off the McKinley Black and Gold Classic at 5 p.m. at McKinley. The Spartans will then play Lahainaluna on Friday before a rematch of the Division I state final against Konawaena on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Hanalani Lady Royals Challenge begins Thursday with host Hanalani, Pearl City, Kamehameha II, Punahou II, King Kekaulike and Molokai all scheduled to compete.


Tournaments will continue through the end of the year with the ‘Iolani Classic featuring the No. 1 recruit in the nation.

    I heard Kuehu accidentally entered Punahou into 2 tournaments that conflict. I heard Uncle Puni is furious. Maybe Pape can use his magic to fix it. He won’t be talking so Imma guess he will use ESP to contact the ILH office to fix it.
