Semifinal action underway at the 20th Annual James Alegre Invitational.

UPDATE: Mid-Pacific and Punahou advance to the title game after notching semifinal wins tonight.

Friday’s schedule
3 p.m. Lahainaluna vs. Honokaa, seventh place
4:30 p.m. Leilehua vs. Moanalua, fifth place
6 p.m. Radford vs. Kalaheo, third place
7:30 p.m. Mid-Pacific vs. Punahou, championship

Mid-Pacific 54, Radford 40, FINAL
Colin Ramos led the Owls with 17 points, including two treys and 12 points in a big third quarter. Kala Makaya added 13 points.

Dimonyai Lacey led the Rams with 16 points.

MPI will meet Punahou in the title game on Friday, 7:30 p.m. Radford will play Kalaheo in the third-place game, 6 p.m.

Mid-Pacific 44, Radford 26, end Q3
Kahue-Parker fouled out with :37 left in the third. The Owls extended the lead to 40-19, capping an 18-2 run off that 2-2-1 press. They called the press off and rotated a lot of bench. The Rams cut the margin to 18 on Lacey’s 15-footer at the buzzer.

Mid-Pacific 34, Radford 19, 5:05, Q3
Layup by the Owls, and then a foul after the bucket. MPI ball and Colin Ramos sinks a wide-open corner 3 for a 13-point lead. Cameron Hersh hustles for a putback and the lead is now 15. Rams with five turnovers in less than three minutes so far in the second half.

Mid-Pacific 26, Radford 19, 6:24, Q3
Owls unleash a 2-2-1 press and get a couple of quick steals, but only two points as they blow a wide-open layup. The lead was up to nine and could’ve been 11.

Mid-Pacific 22, Radford 17, half
Owls staying in a sticky 2-3 matchup zone and the Rams haven’t been able to capitalize consistently. They’re trying to work Lacey in the post.

Mid-Pacific 14, Radford 12, 4:33, Q2
Lacey with a smooth spin move and jump hook in the lane, but on the next play Emmanuel Stevenson is called for charging on a fastbreak. That’s three personals on Stevenson. Yesterday, he had four fouls in the first half against Honokaa.

Mid-Pacific 11, Radford 8, 7:29, Q2
Charging foul on Dimonyai Lacey, then a double tech on Lacey and Elijah Kahue-Parker after the contact. That might play into the game later, since both have one tech each now.

Mid-Pacific 9, Radford 8, end Q1
A lot of contact on both ends, refs letting the bigs bang down there.

Punahou 63, Kalaheo 48, FINAL
Duke Clemens scored 13 points and Yoshi Kobayashi added 10 to lead Punahou’s balanced attack. Robert Thompson paced Kalaheo with 17 points. Ryan Pardini chipped in 10.

Punahou advances to the championship game, Friday, 7:30 p.m. Kalaheo will play in the third-place game at 6 p.m.

Punahou 59, Kalaheo 41, 3:20, Q4
Ryan Pardini’s bank-shot 3 from 23 feet out cuts it to 18.

Punahou 46, Kalaheo 34, end Q3
Depth and constant uptempo defense and offense by Punahou gradually wearing Kalaheo down. Coach Rob Pardini going deep with his bench, but I imagine he’ll have Aaron Baker out there soon. He can turn this around with a few treys. So could Ryan Pardini. Or Kanoa Smith.

Punahou 36, Kalaheo 28, 3:53, Q3
The Buffanblu keep coming with the fullcourt press, and the Mustangs are still running. Kalaheo hasn’t been able to finish in transition or this would be a much closer game. The nimble, yet beastly Duke Clemens of Punahou is back in uniform after sitting out yesterday’s opening round with an ankle injury.

Punahou 30, Kalaheo 24, half

CONSOLATION
Moanalua 95, Honokaa 29
Isaiah Sugiura led Na Manehune with 19 points and Geremy Robinson tallied 17. Jans Caronan had seven points for the Dragons.

Leilehua 51, Lahainaluna 50
Davon Newman led a balanced Mules offense with eight points. Reece Pascua had 21 points and Malino Jacinto 13 for the Lunas.
