Kahuku’s Smith a McDonald’s nominee

Kahuku big man Galen Tolu Smith was nominated for the McDonald’s All-America high school basketball game.

Smith was one of more than 250 players across the nation who were nominated, but only 24 were eventually picked for the upcoming East-West all-star game. He did not make that cut.

Smith is committed to play for Western Kentucky next season. The 6-foot-10 senior is playing for the Red Raiders for the first time this season after transferring from Bay Saint Louis High in Mississippi.
