Girls


Lia Gaogao, Moanalua volleyball: The 5-foot-10 sophomore drilled 14 kills as No. 3 Moanalua fought off then-No. 8 Castle 25-20,23-25, 15-6.

 

Boys

Larry “Tui” Tuileta, Punahou football: The two-sport standout shined again on the Aloha Stadium turf, passing for 358 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-14 win over Kamehameha. Tuileta, an all-state volleyball player, completed 17 of his 26 pass attempts in Punahou’s regular-season opener.

 

 

Air Riflery

>> Kayla Hooker, Kailua: high girls score of 468.07 against Kaiser

>> Colin Kubota, Kailua: high boys score of 431.08 against Kaiser.

 

Cross Country 

>> Zachary Carvalho, Mililani: led boys with a time of 16 minutes, 8 seconds in OIA competition at Aiea

>> Davis Kaahanui, Kamehameha: led boys with a time of 17:15 in ILH competition

>> Maile Shigemasu, Pearl City: paced OIA girls with a time of 20:10 at Aiea

>> Terry Brady, Punahou: first among ILH girls with a time of 20:43

 

Football

>> Kainoa Abreu, Saint Louis: seven catches for 104 yards and three touchdowns against the nation’s No. 11-ranked team, Bishop Gorman (Nev.)

>> Daicorri Briscoe, Pearl City: nine receptions for 198 yards and two touchdowns, and returned a punt 70 yards for another score against Nanakuli, and also had one rushing attempt for 37 yards

>> Noah Brum, Kalani: passed for 262 yards (7-for-13) and two touchdowns in a 49-27 win over Anuenue

>> Jordan Cristobal, Kealakehe: passed for 213 yards and ran for 97 more in a 35-13 win over El Capitan (Calif.)

>> Kai Gonda, Kaiser: 112 yards from scrimmage in a 36-7 win over Roosevelt

>> Enrique Gruver, Kalani: three receptions for 158 yards, including a 99-yard touchdown

>> Lennox Jones, Kealakehe: seven receptions for 117 yards against El Capitan

    What about Keeau’s (Big Island) QB-Keha Wong,completed 19 of 30 attempts, threw total 312 yards, with 4 touchdowns, (2 for 49 yards) See Hilo Tribune sports Sunday, 9/2/2012
