Pearl City’s Lee confirms he’s retiring

Pearl City coach Mike Lee confirmed he’s retiring after Saturday’s state wrestling finals.

When Chargers wrestler Jenny Fuamatu beat Campbell’s Caragh Morris at the OIA championships, she said she was going to try and convince Lee to stay until she graduates in two years.

The effort didn’t work.

“It’s time after 15 years,” Lee told Hawaii Prep World on Saturday.

Lee wants to concentrate more on family, which includes his son Maui Lee, the former Pearl City wrestler now competing in college at Western State Colorado University.
