There is a whirlwind swirling around Saint Louis junior-to-be Isaac Slade-Matautia these days.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers became the third FBS school in less than three days to make a football scholarship offer to him. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker received offers from Washington and Arizona earlier. This comes on the heels of a Nike Regional camp in Oregon and his top defensive performer award at the GPA Maximum Exposure Camp two weeks ago.

Like teammate Loveni Jordan Iosefa, Slade-Matautia is generating interest from recruiters even though he hasn’t played a down of football for Saint Louis. Yet.

Congrats to Loveni and Isaac for their college offers. Gotta be special talents to receive offers without even playing last season. No disrespect to Kalaepohaku, but now, with those offers, they can transfer back to their neighborhood public schools and make things easier for their parents, financially.
