Hawaii enters Lolohea sweepstakes

Maui High product Jonathan Lolohea has become one of the most sought after junior college prospects this offseason.

The 6-foot-3, 315-pound defensive lineman is now enrolled at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi after playing last season at Los Angeles Valley College in California.

He has put together an offer sheet of more than 20 Division I schools and named a top four on Sunday of Kansas, Kansas State, Washington State and TCU in no particular order.

He chose those schools over a list that included Arizona, Colorado, Houston, Louisville and Oregon State among others, but also said he was still open to other schools that had yet to offer.

Tuesday, Hawaii decided to join the fray and offered a scholarship to Lolohea according to his Twitter account.

Lolohea is expected to graduate in December of 2017 and will have three years to play two seasons at a Division I school.
