10:45: A 15-yard Nanakuli penalty gives Castle the ball at the Golden Hawks’ 39.

10:44: Castle has the ball after a trade of punts.

10:35: Castle has the ball at the Nanakuli 32.

10:29: After a Castle punt, the Nanakuli comeback continues. This time, Kipi hits Aalona Aleka with a 30-yard touchdown pass. Piilani catches a 2-point pass from Kipi to make it 49-35 with 6:25 left in the game.

10:17: Nanakuli tries an onside kick and Castle fumbles. The ball is recovered by the Golden Hawks’ Npa Kaaihue-Lincoln. But Nanakuli has to punt it away.

10:14: Morgan recovers a fumble on a bad snap for Nanakuli and runs it 40 yards for a touchdown. Castle 49, Nanakuli 27, 10:33 left in game.

10:10: Kaleo Banks catches a 34-yard TD pass from Kipi. Castle 49, Nanakuli 21, 11:49 to go in game.

FOURTH QUARTER

10:07: Third quarter ends. Nanakuli is driving.

10:00: Nanakuli’s Kipi fumbles at his own 6 and the ball rolls into the end zone, where Castle’s Damien Fauolo jumps on it for a touchdown. Costa kicks the extra point. Castle 49, Nanakuli 14, 4:19 left in third quarter.

9:57: Palaylay-Shuford takes the ball up the middle and cuts to his right and puts the jets on around the outside for an 84-yard touchdown run. Costa kicks the extra point. Castle 42, Nanakuli 14, 4:32 left in the third quarter.

9:51: Kipi’s 13-yard run and 16-yard pass to Aalona Aleka brings the ball to the 2. On the next play, Vea-Quitog runs into the end zone for the TD. Morgan kicks the extra point. Castle 35, Nanakuli 14, 5:13 left in the third quarter.

9:46: On the next play, Bronson Buck scores from 1 yard out. Costa makes the kick. Castle 35, Nanakuli 7, 7:40 left in third quarter.

9:45: The Knights drive deep and have a second and goal from the 1.

9:42: But on a fourth-down play, the Golden Hawks go back to punt and Morgan, the punter, is dropped for a loss.

9:39: Golden Hawks pick up a first down on their first possession of the second half.

9:09: On third down, Uyemura-Lee throws a pass over the heads of two Nanakuli defenders into the hands of a jumping Naki in the right corner of the end zone. Makana Kiakona kicks the extra point. Castle 28, Nanakuli 7, 15 seconds left in the first half.

9:08: It’s third and goal after two incomplete passes.

9:05: After an exchange of fumbles, Naki makes four catches for 47 yards the Knights have the ball at the Golden Hawks’ 10. 0:33 left in the first half.

8:49: Unable to move far, Nanakuli’s Morgan tries a 35-yard field goal and his line-drive kick hits the cross bar. No good.

8:46: Nanakuli’s Zion Robello recovers a fumble by Smith after a 10-yard reception. Golden Hawks ball at the Castle 15.

8:43: From the Castle 5, Kipi fakes a handoff to Joey Vea-Quitog, keeps it and takes it all the way into the end zone. Chayce Morgan kicks the extra point. Castle 21, Nanakuli 7, 9:39 left in the first half.

8:40: Sinai Robello’s 33-yard catch from Kipi and Piilani’s 17-yard run gets the ball into Castle territory. A personal-foul penalty moves the ball to the 15.

8:34: Uyemura-Lee throws his third TD pass of the game, this time hitting Smith on a right-to-left slant for 2-yards. Costa kicks the extra point. Castle 21, Nanakuli 0, 11:54 to go in second quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

8:32: Uyemura-Lee connects with Naki for 23 yards to the Golden Hawks’ 9. Palaylay-Shuford goes off left tackle for 7 yards to the 2. First quarter ends.

8:29: Palaylay-Shuford finds room on the outside for what turns out to be a 17-yard run. He was on his way to the end zone but he stepped out of bounds at the Nanakuli 40.

8:27: A long Kipi pass on fourth and 8 from the Castle 34 falls incomplete. Knights ball at their own 34.

8:25: Kipi runs 16 yards to the Castle 36.

8:23: Castle goes three and out and punts.

8:20: Kipi runs for a first down for Nanakuli, but after the next set of downs, he is stopped short by 1 yard on fourth down. Castle takes over at its own 35.

8:15: A holding penalty hurts the Knights on their next drive, and Chasen Palaylay-Shuford’s 13-yard run on third down comes up 3 yards short of a first down. Castle is ready to punt.

8:12: Nanakuli gets a 22-yard run from Pookela Piilani, but the drive stalls after that and the Golden Hawks punt.

8:06: Uyemura-Lee goes left with a bomb on Castle’s second play from scrimmage, this time to Makana Smith for a 62-yard touchdown. Costa adds the extra point. Castle 14, Nanakuli 0, 10:15 left in first quarter.

8:05: On a third-down play, Reno Curtis dropped a long pass from quarterback Nahum Kipi. Nanakuli punts.

8:00: On the first play from scrimmage, Jaylen Uyemura-Lee throws a bomb down the right sideline to Kawai Naki and it goes for a 79-yard touchdown. Uyemura-Lee is back in action after recovering from an ankle injury. Cheyden Costa kicks the extra-point. Castle 7, Nanakuli 0, 11:47 left in first quarter.

FIRST QUARTER

7:53: Captains are about to meet at midfield.
7:25: Varsity kickoff is about 25 minutes away.

NOTES: Castle has won the last three meetings, the Golden Hawks haven’t won since 1994. That was the only time Nanakuli has beaten Castle since 1973. Castle hasn’t made the trip to Nanakuli since 1985, a game that ended in a tie, and hasn’t won in Nanakuli since 1984. John Hao is 2-2 in his first season as Castle coach, Nelson Maeda didn’t win his second game at the school until his eighth game and didn’t win his third until his 10th game.
