Jordan Ta’amu completed 20 of 30 passes for 368 yards in his debut as the Ole Miss starting quarterback Saturday.

Ta’amu, a 2015 Pearl City graduate, did not have a touchdown pass and he threw one interception in a 38-37 SEC loss to Arkansas. Ta’amu also rushed for 76 yards and two touchdowns.

The Razorbacks’ Connor Limpert kicked a 34-yard field goal with four seconds left to deny the Rebels and finish off a comeback from a 24-point deficit.

Ta’amu, a 6-foot-2, 212-pound junior, started the season as Shea Patterson‘s backup and took over the starting role when Patterson went down with a season-ending knee injury in last week’s game against LSU.

He scored on a 49-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and added an 8-yard TD run with 10:51 remaining in the second quarter to put the Rebels ahead 31-7. The Razorbacks closed the game outscoring Ole Miss 31-6 from that point on.

Mississippi plays at Kentucky next Saturday.
