Hawaii girls wrestlers place high in Fargo

HHwaii girls wrestlers made quite a showing at national meets in Fargo, N.D., this summer

Teshya Alo (Kamehameha graduate) won her sixth Fargo title in junior women’s freestyle at 139 pounds.

Other Hawaii girls who placed and received “All-American” status were:


>> Bailey Hoshino (Punahou), sixth place in Cadeet women’s freestyle at 101 pounds.
>> Tiare Ikei (Kaiser), fifth place in Cadet women’s freestyle at 108 pounds, and fourth place at junior women’s freestyle at 105 pounds.
>> Mahealani Lewis (Kamehameha), third place in Cadet women’s freestyle at 143 pounds.
>> Kelani Corbett (Leilehua), fifth place at Cadet women’s freestyle at 154 pounds, and fifth place at junior women’s freestyle at 148 pounds.

Four other Hawaii girls wrestlers competed in Fargo, but did not place: Laynee Pasion (St. Francis), Teniya Alo (‘Iolani), Taryn Ichimura (Punahou) and Roselani Ikei (Kaiser).
