There have been great changes to women’s wrestling since then. I am happy for all the girls who make the effort to enter into this great club of wrestling. Once entered, you become a lifelong member of an exclusive group of athletes who put out their all. Win or lose, you are all winners in the game of life. Albeit, it was a theoretical question in our time, it is real today, and I hope more and more parents embrace wrestling. We have come a long way from the scare that parents used to have that wrestling meant body slams and tag team matches. Professional wrestling was a commercial success but it dealt a terrible blow to high school wrestling. Lucky for me we didn’t have a TV growing up so my folks didn’t know from pro-wrestling. All those moms out there, let the girls wrestle, they are just as good as the boys. We can take our cues from Judo and Aikido, where women’s participation has been accepted forever. All the best.
