In addition to a second Pac-12 Conference freshman of the week honor in as many weeks, former Konawaena Wildcat Chanelle Molina was named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) freshman of the week today. Molina was already making headlines with a huge 33-point, five-rebound, seven-assist performance in Washington State’s 82-73 upset of then-No. 9 UCLA on Friday. The accolades are building higher for former Konawaena standout Chanelle Molina. The Washington State guard was selected as the Pac-12 freshman of the week today. The league made the announcement on its site and Twitter account. The three-time Honolulu Star-Advertiser all-state player of the year averaged 14 points and three rebounds in three games with 11 assists and four steals.
