Maybe you should’ve watched the Games because it looked like the games between Hilo-Roosevelt and Konawaena-Milillani was fairly close. Teams only lost by 1 and 3 points, I believe that says that those 2 ranked teams definitely deserved their rankings. So it was really anybody’s game and like you said their gone, done, finished for now but you will definitely see both of them ranked high again next year and maybe winning States because guess what both teams are still young and definitely will have players coming up that will surprise everyone.

Not necessarily an ILH fan, but please reward the teams that deserve it. There you go. Konawaena #2 and Roosevelt #4 GONE, DONE, FINISHED, RANKED TO HIGH.

3Sec Ok so you might not be a Punahou Fan, but definitely an ILH Fan, as far as rankings for#1- Lahaina they do deserve to be #1 as far as a lot of people are concerned and Konawaena #2- not sure why it’s ridiculous? maybe because they’ve won so many State Titles and was a runner up last year hmmm…, as far as Punahou-#3 they did beat all the ILH Teams so that should be about right and #4 Roosevelt they are a very good Team wether their OIA or not. Just quit hatin and Move On

They do this every year. Ranking an OIA, ILH, Big Island, and Maui team as #1-4 and having bye’s. Is it fair? Depends on who you ask. Do these teams deserve it? NO!! First, Lahainaluna #1, okay whatever. Konawaena #2, ridiculous. Punahou #3, seated a little low. Roosevelt #4, PLEASE!! they would have more losses than wins if they played in the ILH. Lahainaluna will have the first big test, when they play Maryknoll in Maui. Roosevelt lucked out at #4 and will have no problem in their first game against Hilo/Leilehua, These 2 teams that would have a tough time in DII. Konaweana which will play Mililani has the advantage playing on the Big Island. I still can’t believe Konaweana #2. COME ON MAN. Punahou will have no problem with King Kekaulike/Moanaloa. By no means am I a Punahou fan, but they must be very happy being ranked #3 and not higher. They have the easiest road to the finals. The winner of the Lahainaluna and Maryknoll game will be the other team in the finals.

Realistically the teams you (HHSAA) ranked #1 and 2, should reach the finals. Let’s see, but I doubt it.

I saw them play Punahou. That was enough for me to consider them the best team in the state (at this point). I wasn’t downplaying anything else. It’s just that Punahou has lost to only one other team while Konawaena — though a much stronger team that it was in December — has had a struggle here and there. Same with Hilo.

Lahainaluna beat both Konawaena and Hilo, on the road, in the preseason in a tournament at Konawaena in December. Curious to know why those games aren’t considered in your evaluation.
