It supposed to be about the kids. I feel for the young ladies who live in the Hawaii Kai area and want to play for Kaiser. And honestly, it’s a privilege and an honor to play for the school you attend. What an accomplishment to make a team.

But Coach Simon wants to take away that honor since he wasn’t re-hired. He was not fired. Kaiser chose not to extend his contract. And based on his language, his aggressive nature, and now his threatening email, it seems the correct decision was made.

You are also correct that the Eastsidaz are having a hard time getting into leagues and he is struggling to find teams to play in his league. I do not feel sorry for him. After I read the email that my friend who is a VP at a DOE school showed me, I have no respect for that person.

I have seen that email. It is no joke. It’s a shame that this sad excuse of a human is being allowed to coach children.

If everyone would’ve listened to me in 2016, we could’ve gotten Simon banned from coaching FOR LIFE!

But hey, what do I know…?

Fun fact: No one wants to invite Simon & his teams to play in their tournaments. Also, he can’t get teams to play in his tournament. Then again, maybe if he didn’t ban the whole world from playing for him/with him/against him/whatever he could get some teams.

Best of luck to Coach Hinano and the Aloha All-Star team.

But no longer. It’s unfortunate that Coach Simon sent out the email that he did to all of his families. Basically in the email that I read, it gave an ultimatum to all of his Eastsidaz players. It basically said “if you want to play for me you need to boycott playing for Kaiser High School.” Then he made allegations of all the wrong things Kaiser did to him.

Even though my niece doesn’t go to Kaiser, her parents could not support a person who uses kids to be his pawns to fight adult battles. And what is worse? He tells kids they cannot even play for the schools they attend if you want to be a part of his organization.

It’s no coincidence that so many kids have left for other clubs. I am a little appalled that this organization was allowed to play in the Mufi Jamboree.

I thought the Mufi Hanneman was an event to promote equality, sportsmanship, fair play, and a competitive spirit.

And then you have an organization who tells kids they cannot play for your school if you want to be a part of my team?

That is so bad. And for those people that think this email does not exist, just ask around the Hawaii Kai area. That email made it’s rounds several times in addition to making it to several administrators in the DOE which is why the boss for the Eastsidaz wasn’t hired at Roosevelt.

Mufi or his organizers, please do your due diligence. This is a very bad look for what is supposed to be a worthwhile event.
