This was before her 2-3 ACL injuries. She had almost 18-20 after quarter 1 shooting about 65-70%. She had 37 but that was pretty much playing 3 quarters in a huge blowout. In the first 2 quarters, Punahou looked to get her the ball on almost every possession and she scored at will. When they went up 25 early in the second quarter, Punahou didn’t really look much to her anymore and everyone started to score. Coach Taylor emptied the bench in the first half since it was a blowout early. I believe if this game was close and the Puns kept pounding the ball to her (that was the gameplan), Kuehu would have scored over 60. They had no answer for her. Single and Double teams never worked.

Kuehu is the best player Hawaii has ever seen before she got injured and her career was derailed by multiple knee injuries. She out played Maya Moore (of UCONN & Minnesota) while a member of the California Storm, as reported by Fox Sports. Unfortunately hoopgirlz.com got taken over by ESPN and the storeis are no longer there or archived.

She was rated the #5 prospect in the entire country by hoopgirlz for the class of 2008 until she got hurt and dropped down to around #25.
