they do play multiple teams top 25 team but STL played 5 top 40 teams including punahou twice (top 20) and if the play St. Thomas at the #2 team in the nation and crush them, they will have smashed the #2 team and be undefeated which could possibly push them higher only in the USA TODAY polls. I dont think they will suprass #3 in maxpreps. But they have to smash st. thomas if they wanna be 1 or 2 and alot of things have to happen with the other teams.

STL will not pass Mater Dei or Bosco because they play multiple Top 15 teams every year!
Case in point Mater Dei, Bosco and St Francis all have 1 loss and are still ahead of STL; STL hasn’t lost in 3 years but hasn’t played a Top team until the upcoming Gieco bowl.

For some reason USA has st thomas ranked #2 which would pull weight in those rankings. If st louis were to dominate. I don’t think they would move that much in maxpreps maybe #3 with a huge win. But its interesting to see how it would play out.

I wish St. louis played Bosco. I think they would have a good chance at winning here in hawaii though i’d still say bosco would be a small favorite. The common opponent they have is millilani with bosco winning by 32 and st louis winning by 33/35. Its hard to judge scoring margins for STL because they tend to play conservative late and always kneels on late scoring drives.

@8 Liberty will not be ranked in the top 25. too many losses. they lost to millilani which no top team should lose to.

They played arguably the toughest schedule in the country. They beat Gorman in OT 2 weeks ago and should win the Nevada state championship this Saturday. They would finish 10-5 on the year. 15 games in high school wow! I like to see where the pollsters put a team with 5 losses.

St Louis wont over take a 1 loss Mater Dei squad. Simply because of S.O.S.

Bosco will play De La Salle and with a close win could move down or get supassed by St. Louis? Bosco has one lost against mater dei and should of lost another game to servite who missed a few PATs. Servite was beaten by Bishop gorman. St. Louis closest game was Punahou who is ranked in the top 20 of a few polls. Beating the #2 team in the nation would move St. Louis to at least #2 because the teams in front of them don’t play anybody else. A thumping by St. Louis and a weak showing by bosco could possibly move St. Louis to number 1 in the USA TODAY polls. That would be amazing

*To another note statistically speaking according to max preps, the OPEN DIVISION is one of the strongest in the country and the top 4 teams are stronger than anybodys TOP 4 anywhere. Even the trinity league if you average the teams out by rankings. The open division is literally making everyone better and this is the first time where 3 teams were ranked in the maxpreps top 25 from hawaii. I hardly remembered two teams. I don’t know why nobody was talking about this.

CIF champions play 14 games in total and their season ends mid-December. I think its reasonable that they don’t play in these bowl games.

De La Salle, St. John Boscoe and Mater Dei. At least one of them should be there every year.
