Note that their are 3 components to the definition. First is attraction, second is selection and lastly enrollment.

To answer the question if my sons (oldest & youngest) was recruited by St Louis, the answer is NO. To answer the question if my middle son was recruited by Kahuku, the answer is YES. Let me explain.

St Louis sons had to earn there place even though they were solicited. There was no guarantee that if we sent them there that they would play or even start. Kahuku son was guaranteed a spot and playing time. From the get go is was very clear that he would wear a RR jersey and start if he attended Kahuku.

With that being said, please do not twist and try to manipulate my situation as the norm for either schools. Both schools will continue to be powerhouse programs whether we accept or continue to argue about “recruiting.” As ADULTS lets not get hung up on a term that we defined and try to make issues that our kids do not care about.

They can take student from anywhere as long as that student meet tuition and/or scholarships such as academic or athletic requirements. My son wants to attend Punahou when he goes to high school. He is in 3rd grade now.
For OIA teams, is recruiting happening? Maybe yes, maybe no. If it is happening, who to blame coach or school? School accepts students and coach select athletes from the students. I’m from Wahiawa and obviously a Mules supporter. Win or lose, I support the school and the team. Prior to this season, they played and lost to powerhouse teams like Kahuko, Punahou and Mililani. All I could say was hopefully next season will be better for the team. I’m not going to console and convince myself that they lost because of injuries, recruiting of the other team and etc. They lost because they lost period. I will not also put the blame on coaches. Weekend is approaching and games will be played again. Good luck to all high school athletes and have a safe and good game to all.

I made an ASSumption and put my foot in my mouth, so my bad on the statement. However, upon further review, in which I sought clarification, I was informed recruiting is illegal. If someone seeks to attend SLS (or any private school), the parents are referred to the director of admissions who will inform the party of what programs are out there to assist the family. SLS is not deep in the pockets like Punahou, etc. So first come basis snags the monies that are available. I’ll shed light on this feed and y’all can take it for what it’s worth. I sought the truth and stand corrected. S all, over and out 🍻

He flat out admits that everything that everyone here already knows is true but are in denial about “Coach” Cal Lee recruiting and destroying OIA football is true. Then all of a sudden, at 5:32 pm, Old School backtracks saying that no, Saint Lulu doesn’t recruit and then gives the standard excuse about financial aid packages and tuition assistance.

I feel bad for you,Old School. It’s clear that “Coach” Cal Lee and the ILH Agenda got to you to silence you.

SLS does not recruit. Tuition assistance, financial aid programs, and if you have Hawaiian, there are packages out there. But no solicitation is out there to say, “come to SLS.” So I stand corrected and make clarification. That is what I was told.
