The only good this article does is add credence to the growing concern regarding the dearth of good officiating available in Hawaii HS football. That’s it. Hopefully this season and these playoffs are an impetus for better officiating moving forward.

See? Didn’t use ONE name…although it is absolutely a black eye on HHSAA to allow ANY official to ref a game of teams for which they are an alumnus. True, officials should be held at a higher standard, thank you for stating what we already know.
I would love to see Kahuku go independent, I really dont see how they would be able to finance it, since St. Lulu and Punahou have not found a way to do it, yet. Dont get me wrong, its not a dig on the community, I think the talent is competitive on a national level, I just would like to see how it could be done.
With regards to all your comments about $$$ I really dont have any comment on that. There is just too much I dont know about how the money is dealt with in the OIA for me to say anything. But, I dont think you know enough of how it works for you to say anything either. IMO.
What do you think about a merger with the ILH with D1, D2 and D3??

Lastly, Are you saying that Mike Goshima officiated the Championship game in a biased manner, favoring St. Louis in an attempt to help them win the game??

Lastly, I for one am absolutely disgusted at the lack of knowledge people have for these games. Officials are held at a higher standard because they’re supposed to uphold the rules that keep games safe and fair. I would love to see Kahuku go independent and tell the OIA and HHSAA to stuff it. I’d rather our team play real opponents. It is also fact that Kahuku’s games bring in almost /sometimes more money versus all the other teams in the OIA combined. There is nothing like the Red Nation in Hawai‘i and sparse seen in the world for such a small community. We should stop sharing our money with those who don’t deserve it. And yes I am always to remain a RR4L.
