As long as the ball 🏈 did not pass the LOS the kicking team can advance it by running it or passing it. It’s a live ball. The Olinemen being 2 yards down the feild is what caused the penalty. Very tick tack call but very fortunate for BigRed.

Yes – when it’s initially blocked by the opposing team…but, uh…he kicked into his own O-lineman. Technically, once a punted ball is touched by the punting team, the ball is downed. Cmon now…what island-style street football you been playing???

And…if you watch the replay – offensive lineman are OBVIOUSLY downfield. They were playing the punt and had no idea what was happening…

So…no. That penalty was legit.

Other than that play though, officiating was horrendous both ways…just more so against Kahuku. Still…we need better refs…period.

Watch the game closer. Announcers on the TV don’t know the rules of football, they just agree with refs calls every time so not to make them look bad. Kicking team can advance a blocked punt and there were no men illegally downfield on that TD. #71 (called for penalty) was behind QB. Both teams got screwed from points and turnovers that were not. Stop wining. If Kahuku turns out to be better than St Louis then Trojans should have no problem with them on Friday, and maybe we’ll see a rematch with refs who can make proper calls.

When you have everything going on your side ie: refs, talent (not taking away from soljay) but you still manage to mis-manage your talent, game time, and especially yourself on the sideline. I saw the collapse happen as soon as Gabriel pooched kick the ball on 3rd down before half leaving kahuku with under a minute in their side of the field.

What game were you watching Pops? Bad call after bad call. Non call after non call. All these kids did was rise above it and win. I would say that was very emotionally intelligent of them.

Then Kahuku beats Mililani with 3 sophomores and a junior scoring 5 tds. Wow. That theory went out the window.

I’m a Red Raider fan and have family in the program — BUT, unless the Red Raiders can eliminate the penalties (even though some of them were “questionable”), Waianae has a shot at an upset. And if the Red Raiders get to (probably) play Saint Louis, every penalty against them is a self-inflicted wound compounded.

The only thing lacking in the Red Raiders’ game is emotional intelligence. If Kahuku can find this as a team, it’s a dog fight on November 18. Could be a classic.
