I agree with you that Basco and Mater would blow out St Frances. I dont even think they are a top 25 team after watching their performance, not just the Kahuku game, but games prior to Kahuku. Very undisciplined team. Very poor play calling by their OC. Example is like , they got a gun , but tried to fight kahuku with a knife. With all those explosive players on the outside , they never took any advantage of that . No brainer.

Flip side, Kahuku came to play. St Frances took Kahuku cheap and Kahuku punched them in the mouth. Kahuku capitalized when they needed to. And your right , both coaches are sh…y coaches if you know what i mean.

The Kahuku head coach needs to stop dressing like hes going prom every week. SMH

Interesting take by MaxPreps Sports Building #4 . SF definitely did have the speed advantage on both sides of the ball…true. But i think SF has shown in prior games that they aren’t a throwing team, even though they definitely have the talent.

On that final drive, Big Red was playing not to lose, instead of putting their foot down.

SF did have more penalties, but pretty much all of them were legit. But if you’ve seen their prior games, they are a pretty heavy penalized team.

The fact the Big Red was able to penetrate that Oline and have decent coverage throughout most of the game tells me that if SF was to play Mater Dei or SJB like how their fans are bragging about, they would lose. Coupled with the fact that SF is not a disciplined team based on their penalty problem.

Coach Price used to say that physical superiority cancels out all theory, and it played out in this game.
BUT, poor coaching decisions plagued both schools, AND, to be honest, Kahuku was saved on being blown out by a couple of missed catches, while SF was saved by timely penalties that could’ve led to an embarrassing upset loss(deadball penalties that would’ve resulted in a fumble recovery by Big Red and a beautiful pick six that would’ve won the game for Big Red).

Kahuku should be proud St. Francis the number three team in the nation and they gave them a game in the trenches if bradda man caught that snap under center I think the game would have gone in a different direction with a field goal instead of a strip six ( field goals count big time in close games!!! ) You play caliber teams like that it only gets in the muscle memory of the boys and makes them better I cant wait to see them against the Trojans that game should be a good one!!!

I did but they keep deleting it so let me say it in a nicer way. Kahuku lost because of terrible play calling and poor game management by their HEAD COACH.

I dont know what St Frances was doing , but they played into Kahuku’s hands. Very Very unusual playing by the #3 rank team in the nation. They never used any of their speed burning receivers on the outside which clearly was mismatches on the outside . I just dont understand what the coach was doing , and most of all , poor poor play calling by the St Frances Football staff. Yes the game was close, but the stats was lopsided. St Frances had more penalty yards than Kahuku had total offense, that says it all.
But on the flip side, Kahuku came to play. Kahuku played the best game that they could possibly ever play and St Frances played the worst game that they could ever possibly play but still came out with the victory. It was like , in the last 3 minutes , St Frances said lets stop playing and put this game away. And it was so weird how they literally threw the ball right down the field with ease and scored. Thats why i say it was a weird game because they could score when they wanted to if they just threw the ball. My opinion , Both these coaches made poor decisions in the game.
