Football in Hawaii has a rich history that stretches across generations of well known families and traditions that include high schools that have been around for a long long time. Everyone needs to step back and not make unnecessary comments that are either hurtful or unfounded. These are under age students, they deserve better examples from supposed adults in charge.

Blah blah blah… they tried before, and kapolei whooped punahou a few years ago. Every day a new day. N punahou barely beat kahuku and millilani this year.all teams is solid contenders,and the game must be played. Any assumptions look good on paper,but the field is the truth. Ex: millilani 32-0 over kahuku regular season (ah cake walk in the championship)oops what happened. 7-3 and a runner up. Anything could happen. And ILH has a say, or else there would not be crossover games.We see if they keep it for next year n beyond…supposedly its only a 2 year pilot program.

@ California Spectator 100% correct. Too bad in Hawaii it’s all politics and $$$. The OIA has the most teams by far, hence the most votes, so they control every decision. And, just like in politics, they make the decisions that benefit the OIA the most, even if it’s obviously not in the best interest of everyone. Thanks for your unbiased opinion.

Folks, this was the state championship game. The #2 rank team in the state , season is over . Not to mention Punahou beat mililani , Kahuku and Campbell , yet those 3 teams are in . Hawaii the system is a joke . I already know what people going say , they recruit , only get 3 teams in there division bla blah blah. In California the best teams go no matter if they public or private , it’s the best teams . Sad HAWAII .
