@tutuKane….. 1) Off Island Travel…… If schools can afford it, they go. Yes every year some teams travel out to play, but it’s not the same team every year due to financial availabilities and scheduling.
2) Stadium Games……. monies made at high school venues like the concessions can go towards the team (ie: units, “Office Island Trips” etc…) but if the games are at the stadium then that will never be possible.
3)Why Play On Fri-Sat?…….. Because it’s not a School Night. You notice what time the are done?imagine Waianae going to Kahuku, play and finish around 11 and then going back to waianae… they might as well camp at the school…..

@Chloroform and +Alpha, great rationale yours yet noticing it’s all about drawing profits mainly concession, broadcasting, and at the gate but exclude the travel; still what happen to academics and athletics proven by players who performs to entertain for everyone to enjoy
and travel is an unattached livelihood on Oahu like everyone spends 1/3 or 23yrs on the road during the course of their life time like driving to and from work; 21st century now like travel to compete off island has been very encouraging for athletes and schools yet funds allocation has been an all around strain yet the community, families, and school all come together to make it possible to meet the game date and time; better then the best scenario whereas all games should be played at stadium like in between UH scheduled games, like why does it need to played only on Friday or Saturday; eh why not make full use of the stadium whereas sitting idle with no game scheduled is poor business management? .

And who determines if/and when the games are played at the stadium? Waianae “hosted” Kahuku last year at the stadium during the regular season? That game should have been a home game for Waianae. Does that mean the gate and concession went to Waianae? Kahuku travels well, and Waianae would have greatly benefited from the gate and concession. Just a thought.

@Alpha totally agree. The same can be said for OC16 airing the games, does the schools get any kickback from the sponsorships that OC16 has for broadcasting the games? I know they give scholarships, but the money from the gate draw/ concessions would benefit the school more. the crowds are sparse, especially at the schools fields, when the games is being broadcasted live.

@chloropiciron that would be nice but the four schools and the OIA would lose out because the stadium would benefit from ticket and concession sales, not the kids….

Big games this week!! They should have done a double header at the stadium with Mililani vs Farrington at 5pm and Kahuku vs Waianae at 7:30..the draw at the gate would have been huge.
