Really wanted to see how the Trojans would do with the new coaches and see this years team speed since Coach York said they were faster then all the other years he coached because the past teams on both sides of the ball were fast. Well after yesterday’s showing, they have average speed. Lots of yelling on the Trojans sideline. On a positive note the Oline and Dline did well from what I saw. Again this is only pass league and no pads but the Trojans have lots of work to do. Play calling was horrific and the Defense looked like they wasn’t sure what they were supposed to do. – Evaluate, assess, identify, process of improvement.
– “look in the mirror” buck stops with the Head Coach, Evaluate, assess, process of improvement.
– Hands on the weight lifting and conditioning program, year round. Concepts, Goals, Expectations, Discipline, commitment.
– Establishing Relationships will help to establish acceptable and consistent “attitudes” team and program wide.
– Transparent communication with parents, information about policies and procedures for school, team, staff, so there are no surprises.
– Established positive relations with school Administration, faculty, and staff is a benefit all coaches must maintain!
– X &Os good to see the HC prioritizing Special Teams by being the LEAD coach.
Keep working for improvement, can’t ever become complacent, I know coach York is always trying to get his program better!
