Just my thoughts – The Lunas should stay put in D2. If they move up to D1, KSM or King K represent MIL D2 by default? Weakens the MIL representation as a whole at the HHSAA level IMHO. This year they happen to have numbers, but most times it will be 35-40, with bulk playing both ways. D1 this year at state level is an anomaly because for whatever reason, OIA chose not to have anyone in the D1 playoffs. If Lunas played D1 right now, for sure they would have a shot. But overall, I’d rather stay at D2 – football in its purest form without the recruiting pressures, mercenary players playing for certain programs or obnoxious fans lol. Until something changes in the Lahaina water and the community can consistently produce kids 6 feet tall, 200+ pounds and the depth is such that the coaches are not compelled to have many of their players play both ways, we are better off in the D2/small school division for football.

To be real, yes! to the best of my knowledge if you rank #1, you should have the advantage. That’s what winning those games was about. To have all the advantages of a top seed. There were no complaints when we travelled. Kona gave us fans a small section tapped off good enough for 50 people, we went up there with 200 maybe even more. No complaints there, we understood they was #1 and they deserved “home field advantage”, we was the dawgs. Now it’s our turn, and HHSAA not showing that love? And I hope you understand that..

Well, if OC16 is gonna be airing it? A big quantity of Lahainaluna fans would stay home and save themselves a trip to Wailuku. If we play in Lahaina, OC 16 or not it’ll be PACKED!!! Want proof? 2 years ago we played Kaimuki in a 1st round playoff game at Lahainaluna. We weren’t even good, barely getting to .500 but, it almost was a sold out crowd! Last year we played Waipahu in the 1st round at War Memorial Stadium, attendance was SAD!! Playing in Lahaina would have benefited not only Lahaina but HHSAA TOO!

Sorry if I misinterpreted “tailgating” for pulehu or “Kala Mai”. You wrote “tailgating”, just gave me the impression of bbq’in at the stadium.

Yes, Nov 4th, may the best team win! Never putting a knock on Iolani or any school for the matter. To all schools that made it this far, CONGRATULATIONS! To those who’s season has ended….don’t stop grinding! And to all the fans, your doing a hell of a job supporting your team!

Regarding the open division
OIA champion vs. OIA third place, 4 p.m.
Saint Louis vs. OIA runner-up, 7 p.m.
I don’t know the format, but hopefully, the OIA runner-up and OIA third place draw from either the OIA champs or the ILH champs. That would be the fair. Does anybody know the format? I sure would like to know.

We agree to disagree. Lets say this then, its more of an advantage for the team who doesnt have to travel. I think thats more accurate and appropriate. As far as why they chose the stadium I think its pretty obvious but I hope that if you guys are petitioning to move it that you are successful.

I was wondering, are less Luna fans going to attend because its all the way at War Memorial?? I hope not. And, as far as no one cares about another school if it they aint in the tournament, I dont think that applies to everyone and am amazed that you know everyone in order to know that this is true.

As far as tailgating, Kala Mai, thats my Oahu speak, they meant BBQ and pupus at the house before heading down to the game.

As for the game, may the best team win.

The only babies are the ones wearing Red. Lucas for playing in D2 and claiming to be champs and Kahuku who cries about everything. Kahuku problems is their fans where losers for so long that they think they entitled to win. These Kahuku fans on here are the ones who used to get their okoles kicked by St. Louis. Now they cry recruiting when they themselves are guilty of it. Can’t wait till they lose to Mililani and then St. Louis. Then these boards will no longer have to hear their whinning. Worst community on the island. I remember when this community had REAL pride back when the mill was running. Lots of hard workers but now it’s all football and lazy people.

Make new divisions….2Ilh teams with 4 OIA on both sides red/blue…play the season that way…you could have st.louis Kamehameha one side and punahou iolani the other since iolani always makes it to states without even winning …that would be exciting games…say if u have kahuku kapolei Waianae and farrington one side…let’s see if st.louis can go through them all…same as with testi g the oia teams…just a opinion

Coach c….. how do you know that he wouldn’t have gotten a scholarship from usc if he stayed at St. Louis . C’mon yeah St. Louis is pass happy but if got a stud running back of course your gonna use him. You adjust your offense to what talent you got. If nawahine was that good he would’ve gotten a d1 scholarship playing at punahou. Look at Steven lakalaka and Wayne talaupapa. What you got now?

Brothers in the know should be sharing any infomation regarding any mainland schools wanting to play or coming to the aina next year. I think what St.Louis did to the Gauchos pay back will be on the minds from them and from other schools wanting to play our schools. I dont know what your rosters will be like next year should be preparing transfers recruits DE whatever’s mainland schools coming down should be televised for more exposure not unless the powers that be throws a wrench in the gears!!!:)
