After watching this kid play the last two years I have much respect for this kid’s talent and is probably the most underrated QB this year. He is an ideal QB (physically, mentally, and athletically).

But, if you look at that list of coaches they are well seasoned, knowledgeable, quality people and coaches. The players stand to benefit from it.

And not everyone listed on this staff is being paid. And it’s not like they are getting a lot. What is the pay for an assistant coach? Some of these guys are getting paid $0-$1200. When you factor in the amount of time put in, they are maybe making $4.00/hour give or take a little.

Even Kale isn’t making that much. Several years ago I think his pay was like $3500-$4000 a year (just to be the football coach). That’s chump change.

All those coaches from around the island means that Punahou is trying to build a network of connections to recruit. cmon you dont think there is a reason to put the two kahuku residents as Oline coaches? They want the big boys from the northshore.

Why not, private schools are able to pay there coaches whereas, OIA has a limit as to the number of paid coaches and the rest are wanna-be coaches. Ane needs all the help he can muster. Heck, why not have 30 coaches…one coach for every 2 players. Now that would surely be individual attention and no excuse on winning the ILH and state championship. Good luck Ane, may your coaching staff help you to be successful.

Cheers to them although I root for the underdog in Iolani which is always undersize, undermanned, but play with much heart. ILH is a tough league overall but Kahuku is a tough school individually and deserves much credit for their team success year in and out and this year will be no exception with the returnees they will have and will be heavily favored to win the States again.
