Watched that Mauga kid at Pylon. His intensity and love for the game shows on every play. Hope hes not one of the guys leaving to the mainland.

If its true that two WHS players leave for the mainland, I think the one that plays defense benefits more then ball runner. The defense kid has multiple offers already, and going to the mainland will increase his stock. As for the ball runner, unfortunately (from what’s been said) he has a really bad attitude, which won’t help.

That’s cool the Crusaders are coming out to the West! Can’t sleep on their new QB (Cordeiro), kid got some skills. Should be a fun ballgame. Mauga, Rosario and the St. Louis kids played really well together in Vegas during the Pylon Tourney. Those kids have a lot of respect for each other. Mauga, Purcell, Toilolo, Tufaga, Tuitele….some real talent and heart right there! All good kids!

St. Louis will have to much for Waianae as they return to many players. 9 on Defense and on the O the QB who waited 3 years for his turn is pretty damn good. There is talk that Waianae is losing two studs too Liberty one mentioned above and one runs the ball. It will be a repeat of the last game when many starters was taken out in the 2 qtr. I give big props for Waianae playing the state champs though and not scheduling soft! Oh and SLS has no outer island starters lol…

Mauian, St Louis has been recruiting the neighbor islands for decades. They got Tristan Nichols to transfer out of Maui 2 years ago. They got Luca Vartic out of Hawaii island that same year. They got Nate Herbig, now starting at Stanford, to transfer from Kauai. They got Drew Kobayashi, now at Cal, out of Hawaii island too.
I guess Punahou is getting more top Oahu players and I assume win-at-all-costs Cal Lee must feel he then has to recruit outer islands to keep pace.

come on Chloropicrin, St Louis is always loaded at QB. Marucs Mariota didn’t even start until his senior year. QB Jeremiah Masoli never even saw the field while at Kalaepohaku. But he started at Oregon. Yeah, that Oregon, Pac-12 Oregon Ducks.
