Whats funny is York who is a defensive guy put his pride aside and LEARNED – aka went asking anyone and everyone – how to operate a high flying offense, and he figured it out….within only a few years. props!

Kahuku after 30 years is still running the ball and has not developed a passing game, too much pride to ask for help and too much pressure from a certain segment of the community to win NOW, which means do what always got us there, smash mouth. Running smash mouth all these years stunted Kahukus growth.

The current OC is a Kahuku legend from the 90’s but no one really knows what he brings to the table as far as ingenuity and offensive philosophy. His credentials and knowledge may be good enough to succeed at the High school level but lets face it…High school athletes are no longer playing to be successful in High school, they are playing to prepare for College/NFL.

Kahuku only prepares defensive players and Olinemen for college/NFL. The head coach and OC need to show some sort of sign that the offense is being updated and the WR’s and QB’s can develop and prepare for college while playing at Kahuku. Until then, the younger high profile athletes will outpace the coaching at Kahuku and by the time they are in Varsity will seek better coaching on the mainland or in the ILH…..Soljay is a prime example.

Soljays move is forcing the Kahuku program to rethink their approach and Sterling is smart enough to realize and adjust for that. Changes are finally being made and the biggest Red Raider grinch – papa smurf is finally on board, now we dont have to listen to his idiotic, uninformed, out-of-touch-with-football comments or armchair quarterbacking. #MaloClaw!
