Yeah that’s unfortunate for the Mules. I heard rumor from a commenter last year that Mililani had some Wahiawā boys playing and starting for them, including their 4 year QB Dillon Gabriel. I don’t know what to believe, but if that’s true it’s a tough pill for the Leilehua fans like myself to swallow. But I believe kids and their parents have the right to do whatever they want including where they want to go to school and play football. But most of the time when it comes to football, kids want to play on good winning teams. All Leilehua gotta do is win, and most likely the Wahiawa boys will play for their hometown. I’m all about reping hard for your community no matter where you’re from. Go Mules!

Leileihua is going the way of McKinley and Farrington. Nearby Open schools are vacuuming their players. But community Pride first. ROOTED.

Good luck to both teams! I still pick the Mules to win DI.

Damien’s doing awesome this year! And their program has really gotten strong these past few years. That coach over there is definitely doing something right. But I’m rooting for my Mighty Mules. I think if Leilehua wins with a high score, especially with another shutout victory, that they will be on track to hopefully win it all this year. One game at a time, but they’ve made huge changes to their offense since the Moanalua loss which seems promising. The defense this year for Leilehua is straight up nasty starting with their D-line, but their offense hasn’t been too garans between their Farrington game and their last game against Aiea. The adjustments this game with replacing the starting QB with a pure thrower, having the backup QB be that double threat in the run or pass, and the emergence of their amazing new RB from the JV team has boosted their offense last week and hopefully can carry on against great teams like Damien and so on. The huge O-lineman who have done great this year for Leilehua can finally see the fruits of their labors on the scoreboard with the slight but smart changes in their skill positions on offense. May the best team win this weekend. And good luck to all the kids this weekend playing the best game in the world! #GoMules!!!!

People have slept on Leilehua for practically this whole decade. And for good reason since Leilehua’s last decent year where they could have gone far in the playoffs in the top division (now equivalent to the Open Division) was in 2014. And the last time Leilehua could have possibly been state champions over all Hawai’i Football was the 2011 season where their only 2 losses were against a crazy good Kahuku football team that ended up being back to back champs. Those losses were really close and one loss was in double overtime in the state semi finals. I don’t know what happened to Leilehua since then, but they haven’t been the same. They were consistently in the top 5 in the state and always contenders for a state championship over a decade ago, but now they can’t even go undefeated in a lower division. Give much props and respect to Waipahu, Iolani, Hilo, Damien, and Moanalua; but given Leilehua’s strong football history, they should easily beat these teams. And they should do so before they become a forgotten team in the state. I personally want to see them get to the Open Division and be legitimate contenders for the state crown or at least the OIA crown. But until Leilehua wins the state championships seemingly flawless in Division 1 from now on; they will continue to be slept on. #GoMules #putWahiawabackonthemap

Moanalua and Damien programs a looking good. Would be awesome if they both can stay undefeated till Oct 11th when they play each other. What a game that will be! But they both gotta take care of business one game at a time before they meet.
