You can’t be serious right??? HAHA comparing Iolani and Damien’s
Education is like comparing Harvard and KCC. Iolani is one of the toughest academic schools in the country while Damien is like getting a public school eduction HAHA. You probably are a Damien alum who wasn’t smart enough to get into Iolani. Or are you one of those Kamehameha rejects that find their way down to Damien?

I’m with Education First on this one. Wendall Look does a great job with what talent he has. I’m not saying that I agree with his decision to compete at the D2 level this year, but I can see why he chose to. Iolani consistently overachieves considering their talent level. How many ILH D1 schools have OL/DL who average under 220lbs? Look at Damien and St. Francis and try to tell me that their OL/DL aren’t bigger than Iolani’s. I’d venture to say that even the D1 2nd or 3rd stringers are bigger than Iolani’s starters. It’s a testament to a solid coaching staff that they accomplish what they do. It’s one thing to win with talent, but it’s another thing entirely to be competitive without talent.

If we are talking about his grades why are we on a high school sports website. I’m sure his grades are awesome. But his qb stats are padded

Hard to put up yards when you barely score. He also probably did most of his scoring in D1 against 2nd and 3rd string defense. Wendell Look must’ve been in track in high school because he’s so good at running from competition . He would put his Varsity squad against a jv squad if it meant winning.

Up until this season Mizutani was racking up the stats against the big boys (Stl, Pun, Kam) with a woefully undersized line and a very limited roster. This was due in large part to the genius of Coach Look. This year they managed to beat a bigger, faster and more talented St. Francis team. Precision, discipline and character are the hallmarks of Wendell Look’s squads. He‘s proudly carrying on the tradition of revered past Iolani coaches Father Kenneth Bray and Eddie Hamada.

All Hail the REAL RRFLifers!!

What about when he had to play Saint Louis, Kamehameha, and Punahou twice a year for two years straight? Yes Taulia was an amazing quarterback, but Mizutani also played the best teams in the state week in and week out with lineman the size of DBs. I’ve watched the kid literally run for his life during some games. I know Iolani Is struggling recently, but if you watch how Wendell coaches his boys, you really can tell that they are going to do much greater things in the world than just “Highschool ball”…Instead of bashing on someone’s parade, why don’t you be happy for the kid and his accomplishments both on and off the field. What about his Sophomore and Junior year when he was playing the likes of Punahou, Kamehameha, and Saint Louis every single week with offensive lineman the size of most teams Linebackers and even DBs! There’s no doubt that Taulia was a great quarterback, but you need to look at who Iolani has played the last two seasons. I’ve seen the kid run for his life his whole carrer. So I would say instead of bashing on someone else’s parade, why don’t you be happy for someone and their amazing accomplishments on the field and in the classroom. GPA>TDs
