People, please remember, this whole one season trial was cooked up after two games were already played and after the OIA turned down the $3 M enticement to create an open division.

Just as the OIA did in 1998, when the playoff era was created, getting the ILH to agree to the 8 consecutive semesters rule, thus leveling the playing field. The OIA could extract another concession from the ILH. Maximum number of players on the team. Having 80+ players on a team playing 50 players? Yes, only 11 are on the field at a time, but injuries take players out, and substituting keeps the remaining players fresh.

I’m not crying because the team I cheer for is loosing, I’m just saying, level the playing field. You know, in the interest of fair play.

OIA get something out of this situation. Do you really need 80+ Players on your team, or is that simply a tactic to keep that talent from other teams? Agree to a third division, but add a player limit per team. (Be sure to include jv team limits, and limit how many can be “brought up”.)
